Price is ridiculous.. From the vids I've seen, It looks like a pretty great game, however I'm not going to pay upwards of 30 to even 100 bucks for a key. And then they put the keys number down to 5? Correct me if I'm wrong, and I may be acting over critical of it, maybe that's just how it's done on a daily to keep the numbers down, but seems like it's a little more into the money than into making the game. Especially for a game in Alpha

Cept if you haven't noticed, its 5 keys every hour. And keys have been selling out in the $20 range. Lower if you are lucky. I paid $26.
The auction is a way to determine best value for the game while not allowing too many people onto the servers all at one time. The amount of people logging into the servers will steadily increase, in oppose to everyone buying a key at the same time and then crashing the servers.
So yes, they are OBVIOUSLY a little bit in it for the money. Not ridiculous though. Its up to us to determine the value of the game. They don't want to set a limited amount of keys each day at a certain price point because 1) they don't want to sell it too cheaply that they can't upkeep costs, and 2) don't want to overcharge for a game thats in alpha.
This will all change once it hits steam. I'm quite curious what the price point will be set at then. I'm guessing they are determining averages and will sell on steam at a similar price.

I don't completely disagree with you. I've monitored the price and keys have sold out before 40 bucks, Saw it earlier at 27 but had just learned about the game. They cut the keys down from 10 to 5 and then raised the prices to, In my opinion, to be ridiculous. Might as well just cut it off if they have too many keys out instead of risking server crashes to the people that have payed.

Wait until the next time 32 keys go on sale! I got 3 keys for 13 dollars each one time when that happened.

Yeah. I'll just have to keep watch. This game does look amazing for Alpha. Might be worth the extra money that I'll probably end up paying. Hopefully they don't close it out before then :p

Bought mine for 20$ right now.
It was like 24$ 3/5, which I think was great considering last night it got soldout with 33-35$

when i try to buy a key and log into paypal it says error "Return to merchant and try a different payment method".....anyone know how to fix this or why its saying it. thanks

Did you follow the note about the effect could be intentionally put on your account by PayPal security and you should contact PayPal support. If they locked it, they have to unlock it.

I'm really annoyed about not being able to get the game. I'm willing to drop 70-60 bucks on it but I can't because I'm not 18 and can't connect my card to paypal. You guys need to add visa, trust me it will increase your purchases by a lot.

I need help with purchasing a Rust Key.
Today I just got onto my computer and found the price going UP instead of down! I have taken a picture of it as evidence.
Unfortunately I am not sure how to get the picture onto this post! The picture shows ($2,190.74)985 (<-- the counting thingy)
With 5 out of 5 remaining.
What is going on here, how can I fix it and if not how will I get this great game!
Also I found when I was about to purchase a key last night before I did I refreshed the page and BAM! It suddenly reset to $100?

Don't worry just buy it. It won't pay 2,190$ it's a known bug. Purchase it at 18:00 GMT+0 and it will be 23 dollars.

Guess what? After paypal redirects you, there is a tab you can open below the paypal info login, and its a drop down menu for entering card info instead! So you CAN use your card.

I can't get my old account restored for free, can I? Pretty sure it got caught in the wipe since I stopped playing after the popularity boom a few months back

Oh thank you I have now purchased Rust and your right I didn't pay for that much.
But when I try to run it, I click to enter the Australian server, I wait for it to download the stuff...
Wait a bit more... AND THEN FINALLY it gets to 100.0% Bam! It freezes and I get a crash report by Unity player for me to fill out. I am so frustrated about this at the moment because I don't want to wait until it comes out on Steam and also is that rule about one month without playing leads to a removed account?

I really don't appreciate the purchase method at all. Especially given its not even a finished game. Whilst its not on the pathetic level of Kickstarter it still seems really insincere to me and actually kind of an insult to average people who might have watched a few YouTube videos and are trying to understand if they think spending a quantifiable amount of their money on a product meets their actual expectations. If you believe in your product why not stop fooling around, get it on Steam with a legitimate price for what you feel its worth and then stick with it? I mean really, back in the day game companies would release a free playable demo of the first level of the game so you could judge the game and how it worked on your particular system and then they would work on the game until it was finished and then only then would you pay for the boxed game. I understand times have changed but stop being so wishy washy and stand up for what you believe in...

That is the problem. Paypal is a bit too "secure" , and after you remove your credit card from your account, you can't use it ever again in a different account, and you have to go get a new one... Didn't know it when i removed it :S
