    I really do think that the gun crafting system is total bullshit, the game is aiming for realism from what i know so i think this suggestion will be very valid.
    I think that the current weapons should NOT b craftable but should spawn in the world with prefixes like Rusty M4, Faulty M4, Masterwork M4, i am sure the engine could handle that since the armor types have stats and also the weapons that you can craft from blueprints should actually look like they are "homemade". So if there is a M4 blueprint you craft a "Homemade M4" which doesn't look like it was taken out fresh from the factory but so the guns you craft look something like this:








    Guys please tell me what you think and if you like this idea do your best to make it seen by the devs, thanks!

    It might be far fetched for me to say this but what if molds are added and you use parts from guns and assemble them instead?

    I guess i can see? Compare this to Minecraft, both survival games, you can see clearly that Rust is aiming for a realistic survival experience.

    Yes, but your suggestion would completly change how the game works. I don't know if it's in the developers' interest to change it now, if ever.

    Yes i know what you mean you are right. The game is still good as it it but i have seen other people post similar things with the homemade weapons so it is a pretty popular idea.

    You know, considering you learn crafting through the literal military/factory grade blueprint, and the metal you smelt can actually be either custom parts for the guns or scrap, I didn't really think much of it.

    I mean, what do you think a blueprint is? A blue piece of paper that says: "how maek m4. metal scraps x200"?

    I like it, it seems more realistic. If you think about it, there's no way in heck a person can make a decent m4 with a blueprint.I for one like the gun ideas, plus this could be different from a lot of survival games.

    So are you going to add new models etcetera? On a youtube video a person said that when you craft a weapon it can randomly have an attachment so what if let's say we have our M4 blueprint and we craft it using homemade materials but since it is a home crafted weapon it has randomized stats like the range of fire could be lower but the rate of fire could be higher, if there was skills you could make this depend on what a player's "crafting" skill is. What do you think of this idea?

    I like the random-ish stats, I don't want range to be like random 1-500 but somewhere 100-150 would be great, but crafting skills are stupid, it would make the game, needed to level and that's not what Rust is going for, and I don't really see any point in it.

    I Understand what you are going for but It would kind of take away from the game if you had a "Homemade Shit weapon". It may be just me but Id rather come out with a m4 factory then
    that. At least I think so.

    well i do agree that the crafted items should look more homemade, that way it fits alot more with the character of the game but the idea of good and polished guns to be spawned in the loot depends on the lore that the devs decide on later on (depends on how long ago did the outbreak start) over all a good though =)
