BBC's followup interview with FloundCo CEO Floundten Floundnificent. posted:
Tom: And we're back with Floundten Floundnificent, as you all know is the CEO of FloundCo. The largest designer and manufacturer of assorted goods all around the world, especially in biotechnology and military hardware.
FF: Glad to be here Tom.
Tom: A few months ago, you announced that FloundCo would be making Sierra Leone the home of it's world wide headquarters. You also claimed that this action would bring much needed wealth and stability to the country. Do you still believe that this holds true?
FF: Absolutely. If you look at the numbers, you'll see that the overall worth of the country has increased by at least 26% since our arrival in the country.
Tom: And how has the government responded? In the past, it's proven very resilient to change due to strong cultural beliefs.
FF: The local governments power has always been derived from the force it can deliver, not by economic prowess. Luckily, FloundCo has both.
Tom: But FloundCo is not a governing body.
FF: *chuckles for a moment* We'll see after the elections in November. After all, we have done allot for the people here.
Tom: So essentially, you are in the process of performing an economic coup?
FF: I suppose that's what you could call it if you wanted to be blunt. We see it more of as a re-imagining of a country that's had a sordid past.
Tom: I imagine there are civilians who are not pleased with what is going on. Have you met any resistance during FloundCo's occupation?
FF: Yes, but under the authority of the local government we've been able to take care of it. Rest assured, both Sierra Leone and FloundCo will come out of this stronger then before.
Freetown News Wrapup posted:
Newsreporter: Fighting in the streets of Freetown continues as resistance to FloundCo special forces increases. This is believed to be in retaliation to CEO Floundten Floundnificent's decision to run for office in November's election. Members of the resistance believe in preserving their culture which they also believe is being cleared out by FloundCo.
