What is the estimated time for when the servers will be up for testing again? 6 hours? 12 hours? 2 days?

there is not any estimated time servers been back up but there was a couple of issues im sure garry and his team are working hard on to getting the servers back up and running with little of a few problems as possible.

Garry is referring to multiple code branches. It's a software development term and refers to a development process where multiple different versions of the code are being worked on simultaneously and kept separate.
One branch, for example, may be to refine the input handling code and improve the menu UIs. Separate from that, another branch has its graphics code being heavily reworked. In the first branch, the graphics code hasn't been modified. In the second branch, the input handling and menu UI code has not been modified. Each has been taken from the same starting point and gone in a different direction.
Garry made a branch a while back and has been working on it. It's now time for that branch's changes to get merged back into the main development code. This can be a bit of a messy process at times.

its alpha but you currently can't get a key.

Just one question: Is there any workaround for the settings dialog, yet? E.g. by modifying the binary saves under %APPDATA%\Unity\WebPlayerPrefs ?
I am mainly asking this because those of us with lower- and mid-spec systems haven't been able to play and test since the latest changes.
You can change the display settings using / and * on the numpad
I had completely forgotten about those. Thank you! I should be able to play in windowed mode now (alas for fullscreen I would need to reduce the resolution).
Edit: Nevermind, found a quick and dirty workaround for the resolution settings. Just change your desktop resolution and the game should adapt in fullscreen mode.
How large is the world in Rust? I would like to know because i dont want that the world is something like flatgrass size!
It medium sized. I'd say a comparison to Gmod is pretty hard though.
It's not as big as DayZ Map but also not too small. It's hard to epxlain.

They are spawning around rad areas. And it isn't too hard to solo there.
I survived on my own for around 4-5 days there. (With sevral raid attempts.)
I noticed that pigs and players are not moving smoothly through the world, they are glitching across my path. Anyone else seeing this as it makes hitting a target VERY hard?

I think I fixed the weapon slots not loading/saving.
I think the devs said something about letting players host servers, but the non-official servers won't allow you to jump weapons from server to server
