I don't think they should be removed, and I am pretty sure they are going to make it harder to obtain when we hit beta.
It just doesn't seem to fit the tone of the game well, maybe make it a 3-shot burst? or maybe if they throw some rust on it and make it jam every once in a while it'll work a little better. Just seems a little weird to me.
What do you think of a compass to locate its home ?
Different materials that you can make your house out of like an iron house or a stone house stuff like that and they would have a different durability. and different stuff to put in your house to give you something to do like a rug or something.
The problem with that would be people would just camp and hide, or it would be hard to find people. As I said on another thread, there should be a sort of "Pros and Cons" for some items/structures. Like maybe on the entrance to you're little hide-away, the entrance would have a wooden trapdoor and a lamp hanging next to it.
Some thoughts I'm having while testing.
Much depending of future state of game, story line and time frame, so thinking broad and wide.
- pve pedlar & market city
(dependent on traits and trade system for players)
eventually,
groups and former society will start making cities with new currency and markets.
So my thought is having 3 different types, that the player has access to,
to able them barter and trade goods, buy stock and get information.
We have general black market, a settlement run by gangs.
This area is lawless, as long as you dont shoot or kill other thugs traits within the area (pvp area)
thug trait grants you extra protection leaving the area to avoid sniping and assault.
We have former government controlled city. (pve only)
Heavy fortified city and settlement
Your not allowed to wear arms, persons without thug traits have extra protection leaving the area.
Any thug traits entering is killed without warning.
Then there is special forces and military, (only way to enter base)
After building gps and radio system (rare and heavy costs), you can utilize calling for evac anywhere.
Your then taken to a military base to market with them, afterwards taken back to your original place.

- Thoughts on group building (dependent on making a named group/clan/guild)
One way to start as a group is that you get a stronghold box (item such as flag, building or century gun etc etc)
this grants the group a radius when placed, the area within is only controlled by the group for 6-12 hours.
(one time use, can not stack or overlap)
The radius grants the group the land and its contained resources for the time period,
it also grants you pve coverage, as long your within your radius no one can kill you.
Allows the group to dig in and build without interruption.
When time expires its free for all, pvp on.
Any member active using this option can not take part in another for a very long time.

One way to implement friend indication to an on-screen mini map, and believable,
would be building a Land warrior system, just as the military uses to get & relayd information, positions etc

They have a computer, gps, minimonitor for the helmet etc etc
So if you build this in-game, you would also have to create batteries to make it run.
Now putting it on, you will get up an overlay top right, showing the map.
It will show current position of all your friends or group that has a equal running land warrior.
If for some reason yours is malfunctioning or runs out of batteries , you will not see them anymore or they you.

- Generator & electric fences, locks etc
You build a generator in your base to produce electricity,
now you have to place out " wire pillars" from that generator
to power up for example a house, fence, spotlight etc
Then the house would now be powered and all connected foundation with it.
You can now attach an electronic numkey lock on any steel door within that house.
Any one who knows the code can get in, how ever if the generator is not repaired
or runs out of fuel, the lock will get stuck and can not be open until it gets its electricity.
This can also give electricity to electric fences, traps, spotlights etc

Suggestion; Large player groups attract zombie hordes
So i was thinking about what it was like playing Rust with The Jesters community. There were alot of players all grouping and raiding together.
This generates two interesting problems;
Firstly it discourages newer players since they can't get established without being raided.
Secondly it becomes boring after a while for the group of people playing together.
A larger group needs a larger challenge to engage them. So what would it be like if zombies actively hunted people that are in a group larger than 3 people?
I think that it would provide an engaging alternative to raiding other players. It would also be crazy awesome to see the occassional rampaging horde of zombies.
Maybe they could break down doors if there is enough of them.
My experience of Rust, Minecraft and DayZ is that these games are most satisfying when grouping in small groups. But the only reason for this is that when you make a larger group the survival elements of the game are somewhat negated.
I've heard rumours of electrity will be added. You can build a generators and solar panels to produce it for stuff like refinery etc. Also concrete as a building material. No idea when, though.
i dont like theese ideas. kinda changes the whole fucking game into your own.
Its the community of people who make up this list, people who have invested hours into the game with ideas to make it better. This list changes nothing fundamental about the game, it only builds on it. It expands crafting, combat, and survival. If you want to share how you feel the game should be or specific things you don't like in the list let me know.

The point of the game is to be a zombie-survival. Of course they're not as threatening as actual players, but they add onto the pressure players should have so that way they work hard.
