Most interesting thing I find in this game is base building, I'm a massive fan of building a community in game but not many games allow you to do it. I've been waiting for the DayZ Standalone option of base building and so far only info we got is that you will be able to make a base on a *underground map*, which quite frankly sucks.
But yeah, the whole idea of making a base with your friends end holding up against other players - awesome + survival aspect of it where you have to scavenge for supplies makes the game even more interesting.
I'm more interested in the end product and I am willing to wait (i'm waiting for like 4 other games so this isn't going to kill me).
But at current state the game is buggy as hell, the youtubers don't show all the truth about it, i mean how many times do you see a youtuber getting killed by a hacker or a glitch? It's quite rare, that's why all the hype.
Start thinking outside the box and stop believing in everything you see.

I want it so bad, looks like the best game ever! Been watching streams from like summit1g got me all like drooling for this game, so i made 2 pictures for the contest just to realize that after it was closed that
1. They dident open links( dident figure out how to get it to show as pic )
2. Even if i had won i dident have message activated:(

I want to build a mansion and stand at the top raining bullets down on people as they try to get in. Plus given the current stage of the game there is little chance of getting cheated like in most games today.

Rust is mixed for me. Dont get me wrong, it is very addictive and I love playing it, but at the moment it is full of bugs,some hackers and combat loggers. One of the bugs is that your door will start to fly away into the distance. Then the hackers are very annoying, but most of them are terrible at it and get noticed easy. Then there are the combat loggers. Your with your trusty weapon, gunning down another player, only to see them disappear into thin air. I know many a time when I have wasted ammo killing a guy just for him to combat log. Pretty good game at this stage if you can manage the combat loggers.

Gold member does not get you a key.
That's why Garry removed gold member purchase option from his Boostar because all the idiots (no offense) were trying to buy gold so they could get a rust key. although i'm surprised he chose not to roll in the dough

Guys, if you like building, go play something like Blockland, Minecraft, or Garry's Mod. Rust is mainly about the "zambie survival multiplayer" more than it is building houses or crafting shit.

Well, I have a Mac computer. I think this game looks amazing, and is the closest I can get to DayZ on a mac without using Boot Camp. I have been trying to get a code for as cheap as possible, but it hasn't been working out for me too well.

if it was the next half life, bioshock or gta, or maybe stalker 2 I could see that
but it doesn't have that much potential, at all, so far
I mean, really, its a pretty... dull game right now. Nothing to REALLY do. It's just another generic "Zombie survival" with nothing that really stands out in it at all. But it does have potential.
for me I think mass vehicle and weapon customization and building customization would be the way to do, as well as better team building.
and in its current state it needs to remove every one of these shitty players because honestly community is it's worst part.

Mixing shitty games together only makes another shitty game. Rust doesn't really do that, but it's nothing special. Not that GMod is shitty, but Jesus.

Infiniminer is a Breakout ripoff.
Breakout is a Pong ripoff.
Pong is a Tennis for Two ripoff.
Tennis for Two is a tennis ripoff.
Therefore Rust ripped off tennis.

has anyone else noticed the only people that think this is the greatest game to ever come out, are the people who have never played it?
I was one of those people.
I watched countless hours of videos on youtube, reading forum posts, and keeping up with what I thought was the true rust world.
I bought the alpha key to find out that those videos on youtube, only showed the game in its "glory" by showing a non-laggy server, and usually successful raids, tricking the viewer into believing the game is perfect and awesome. When in all actuality, the game is laggy as shit, unfinished, glitchy, and the servers don't stay up long enough for you to finish a raid. Still a great game though.

I'm assuming you haven't read a single thread in the last few weeks how "Unstable, shitty, glitchy" Rust is? Youtubers make videos to get viewers, only a few people want to see someone walk around, chopping wood and crashing constantly.
Personally I never got in to Minecraft, WarZ, Stalker or DayZ. Main reason for that might be that I always soloed where-as in Rust I've been in a team most of the time.

You know that's called entertainment, right? Videos are there to entertain you, not to showcase the game. The ones that showcase the games fully, are called reviews. You can't do a review on a game that's in pre-alpha.

ermagerd. That was what my post was about, how its deceitful of youtubers to show only the good parts of the game, which leads to people that have never played the game to think its an awesome perfectly made game. Learn to read, and understand the point someone is trying to convey.
