how about because its a god damn DAYZ/MINECRAFT/STALKER BROWSER GAME THAT RUNS ON UNITY.... i swear people don't realize that this game WILL BE THE BEST BROWSER GAME MADE SO FAR... so why wouldn't people want to play as early as possible, get 2 know some of the core players, and be able say that they were playing since the start... ffs i think im done with this forum.. 50% kids 45% d-bags 5% normal, good people.

Rust has one of the best concepts in gaming.
Survival, building, PvP.
It's like watering down vodka with more vodka.

I don't see the similarity between Rust and DayZ, Since zombies are placeholders, It wont be similar at all in the end.
The only thing I can say is: It's Call of duty with survival aspect. (And some Stalker stuffed in.) -> Kids love that.
I'm waiting the "big update" where they will add the player model and actual difficulty beside other players.

Why do I want to play Rust?
I have always been keen on fresh games, that are in alpha or beta. Because then I have my chance of helping the community and the game editors, and maybe even then get credited for the help.
It's even written in my sign (Lion) that I like to help others and share with others.
My suggestion to Rust:
It needed to be closed beta on the first start, and only like 3k chosen ones would be picked by livestreamers, youtubers and administration. Then almost everyone would report the bugs, and there wouldn't be that much players that want just to play the game and ruin chance of someones else chance to help.
But I guess that's only me, and I will get flammed by other Rust members.
"Finally add about 10 sec waiting time to leave the game, if you leave the game in force - the players still will be there for 10 seconds" That will reduce a lot of combat logging.

Of course I would enjoy playing it too, because have always liked games like this, where you gather material for your house, you got to survive and fight for your living.
I wouldn't say its like minecraft, because minecraft has different concept, like only thing taken from minecraft is food and material harvesting.
DayZ - Zombies, guns, pills, etc.
It's a mix of a lot of games, and by that it becomes a whole new game that no-one has made before.

Ok so this is just my opinion, it will be better when its released for everyone. Playing solo is extremely difficult, you need a group of atleast 2 or 3 others. The construction system is awesome, its just a shame i dont get to use it too much.
Ofcourse being in alpha there are bugs and many things that need improving. The combat logging i havnt actually found TOO much of an issue, YES its an issue but i have found that a few people get so into the firefight with the chance they might kill some-one its too late for them to combat log. Another thing is and i think someone else has said this, but its too rewarding/satisfying killing other players, i think at one point i spawned and was killed almost straight away, the guy must have seen me spawn in front of him. So yes people go out of their way to kill new spawns, un-fortunately untill there is a way to de-courage people from just going out to see how many kills they can get, its going to be annoying. So my verdict is just dont be so dam pushy for a key. Especially as you will most likely be playing by yourself for a certain period of time.

Because all game companys making zombie killing games are screwing PC gamers right now. Dayz has promised a release date twice! still has yet to deliver. state of decay released only on console! and infestation is just awful and full of nothing but hackers. i really love minecraft and zombie games. im tired of feeling like i cant ever play the game i really want especially when i know everyone else is. it really is an awful feeling. but i guess the game devs from all companys just dont get it because they already have the game and other games they can get early access because there is a mutual repsect with Devs i am assuming. but either way it really sucks.

I digress. I own another game that runs Unity, and it's alpha, but it looks better than this.
7 Days to Die. LITERALLY Minecraft (voxel world) and Zombies (zombies).

Unity is good, look on youtube, but rust is very good, and rust is a web game, so it's cool for an alpha !

It's a mix of Minecraft, DayZ and STALKER.
Warz ("Infestation: Survival stories") isn't anything more than a big lie.
Hacking admins, random banning, payable currency, rude(and lying) devs.
It's the right opposite from RUST.

DayZ is good for waiting, stop being so darn inpatience. They are just going to make the edges of the coding a bit smooder, you know..... So that when it comes out its actually playable.

Well its really easy to say...
In my opinion the game looks got not awesome at the time but it will be, for sure. Not just by the fact that it is garry who is making the game but beacuse of the concept of the game... I mean yep its a mix of games because of zombies, radiation, crafting and surving stil... For me at least the name (Garry Newman) means FREEDOM! in the games. Have you guys looked yet to garrys mod? what does the player enjoy moast? it is is freedom on the game to be able to do what he wants, when he wants. Rust is around to the same thing, i mean you're not restricted to item loot spawns like in most of the games at the time like dayz, warz, etc... Imagine this... you have like M4, Scar, Ak-47 to craft ton the menu, like in most games people dont like same things so basically.. When does Garry win? where is he different? What do you enjoy more in your life? FREEDOM! i guess... that's where he is different and makes the game fun, you can just call your mates and let's go play lets craft this, lets build our house there, its really cool the way it is designed, sure it is on PRE-Alpha stage, give it some time, anyone who knows a bit of garrys work, know's that sure does know how to make really good games and he can apply really nice concepts into the game :)
So it's by these reasons i really want to play it and you know to survive at the thrill of the hunt haha:P

Rust isn't a mix of anything. It's just Rust. The mobs they are planning to use for the game have been described to have a likeness of what you might come across in STALKER. That's all.

Minecraft, Dayz and garrys mod is the only games I actually play at the moment. So naturally a mix of the 3 would make me shit meself

I want to play rust because I love free world survival games, where I can interact with other survivers, and go in the woods, and make a fire, also at this stage, seeing how there is a lot of bugs, I want to help develop the game, and improve it for you guys, and so more people play the game. I have so many ideas, sadly you guys are not handing out rust keys, which is really sad. Basically I love survival games, where you need to think of ways to survive (finding food,water,weapons, etc), and I want to help improve the game.
