I was told about Rust by a friend in early June. I blew it off, "I don't care :P". Later that month, I had some problems with my Garry's Mod, so I made an account for Facepunch. After posting my bug (which has been fixed), I decided instead of going inactive forever to look around. I looked through the forum and read stickies about stuff. I saw the "Rust" section and my curiosity kicked in. "Why not?" I said.
There were chat threads, suggestion threads, hacker threads, etc. Of course there were shitloads of beggar threads, but I refuse to give them any more attention. After a few days of looking through Rust forums and the rest of FP, I saw that Garry has posted something. It is a contest: "Win a Rust key! -Draw us a picture!". I entered a few images, and received my key at the end of July.

I'm trying to figure out why a zillion people flooded to this forum as soon as Garry started handing out keys. So, why do you want to play Rust? How did you find out about it?
I am interested in Rust because it Combinne two games two of my best games, ie Dayz and minecraft. I think Rust is a really great game. It is very promising anyway. I love this game because you can build houses. Once our house we do pvp. That's what interest me. But unfortunately I can not test it.

past few weeks I've been wanting a Open World Survival Zombie game and I was looking online and I saw Rust, watched some videos and the game looks pretty cool and exactly like what I wanted, zombies, building, survival. :3

    You should be aware that:
    a) This game is a very rough alpha (meaning: buggy, server may go down at random, the game might just break) and everything is subject to change
    b) Zombies are a temporary placeholder enemy and will be removed completely later on in development when real monsters are available (unless that changes and it keeps the zombies, who knows)

That's like asking every person in the world why do they like anything ._. ppl just like the game, nuff said. i dont ask my friends why they like facebook games ._.
Some Facebook games are genuinely addictive. Rust is unpolished, unfinished, and overhyped. That's it.

I am interested in Rust primarily because I enjoy survival games. Even though it is still early in its development Rust shows great promise. This game has aspects of some of my favorite games, its atmosphere reminds me of S.T.A.L.K.E.R, the survival and building is like Wurm online, and like the DayZ mod for Arma2 it creates lots of tension when you encounter other players.

I look forward to being able to play this game once it is released to the public. The developers are doing a great job and I am willing to wait. I would rather have the game take longer to release and be great than have it come out tomorrow and be bad.

I wonder how many people who joined between June-August 2013 have actually been to a forum before.

I found PlayRust by watching PsiSyndicate's first impressions video on YouTube. I missed out on the free key by a day. I've watched other people play PlayRust on TwitchTV since then. Only it seems most if not all the streamers that played and streamed PlayRust are not streaming it anymore. I go to the Rust page on twitch and there's nothing but the highlights. I think the game looks great, and I still want to play it like crazy. But, all I have now to scratch the Rusty itch is old twitch highlight videos. Witch blows.

I just want to play the game. I'm a gamer, it's how I forget reality. Because my name is my reality, everyday.

Great LOOKING game, Garry. Can't wait for release.
