It was more like griefing not glitching.
I'm Pretty sure you aren't supposed to place walls on the same spot as a doorway.

He may have been griefing but at the same time he was exploiting a glitch it's still wrong.

Yes, that was attributed to me but was in fact put in place by another player I worked with. All structures were legitimately placed without using any glitches. The two main entrances to the tower we walled in by placing pillars, walls and ceilings. Summit and his crew's mistake was building the ramp to their entrances on a foundation. This made it possible for us to easily place the pillars and all the other parts. Same thing goes for the shack outside the tower. No walls were placed inside doorways, I don't know where Summit got that idea.

Before all the fanboys pile in to rage at this post, here's why we did it: Summit is the most notorious bandit on this server.. He and his gang KOS everyone they come across. I would be fine with that. But what's not ok is how they completely wreck each base they raid. You call us griefers? Please take a look at Summit's past stream recordings and see for yourself what a nice guy Summit is. Just before we walled them in, him and his crew raided, destroyed and griefed a neighbouring base. It was time someone took action against them.

So to conclude: Yes, we did grief his base, no we did not abuse any glitches to do so, and yes, he had it coming.

The point is that it needs to be fixed, just in-case other people use this to troll or something. It would ruin the game if everyone was doing this.

This seems like an issue that has been around a while now. Has anything been posted by a dev regarding this?

This isn't a glitch. The devs have said this is apart of the game and people won't get punished for it. I don't see why they should get punished either.

Fix is you build up or you build out and place timbers up, so that no one can put walls in.

I dont see that as being a "fix". If you use a ramp and build your door up it can still be walled off. If you place pillars outside people could just place doors between them

Don't build ramps up to your escape doors, put in poles to prevent ramps from being made. Accept that your enemy has limited resources or patience, but build to make it too costly to block you in.
It becomes more costly for assholes to envelop your base the higher your last escape door is.

    e.g
    --- ____
    --- |__| ----------- Third Floor
    --- |__| ----------- Second Floor
_|_|__|_|_ ------- First Floor with Pillars

Enveloping this structure will take ~2x as many resources as the structure took to be put into place, assuming roof access & doors in all directions @ top. Unconventional builders will find you can entirely prevent blockage by building partially in terrain rocks (if you can't put down that fourth post because the foundation is 90% covered in the rock, then you can't build a ceiling)
