Ok guys, so since i haven't been able to get a key for the actually game, i have decided to start developing a 2D version of the game.

Its not even close to what rust is now, i only have the sprites and other little tidbits in. But it will get up to speed soon as the 2D version of Rust. So Enjoy :D

I too haven't got a key and have attempted to make a map like rust (Without the dead tree's etc)

I seriously think being a closed alpha is not the only reason for garry to hold keys right now, he's taking advantage of all these 5 poster hyperhyped kids to get a lot of publicity around the game so a lot of people get it when it's released.

It's a nice marketing technique.

I agree with anyone who believes this is a bit obsessive over something that can get you no where in life. I mean the games will be in open alpha sooner than you think. My recommendation is go out and kick a ball, watch some porn, you know kid stuff.

I didn't really care about playing The game as soon, i just like taking concepts of games that i like and putting what ever else i would like to see in that game... Thus making a good template

all they have is a map right now nothing is replicated and if you have ever used unity you would know that alot of the maps look alike especially at the beginning so i dont see why theyd get banned for post a pic of a map

Instead of making your own versions of the game why not do what I'm doing and come up with ideas on how Rust can be made better and unique. There's my two cents.

Sorry if you proceed this as hate. I just think that it's silly to recreate a game that is just like any other new closed alpha game. In the sense that if you don't have permissions to play you have to wait till it becomes open alpha.
