First of all, I see you are banned already. Then you don't seem to be clever enough to issue !age in chat. Other than that, we're allowing everyone who isn't annoying and has the passion to stream to use our channel.

nice :D
What does it take to translate the Wiki to an other language?
I think it's safe to say you need to be fluent in both the language you're translating from and the one you're translating to.
Alternatively, Google Translate.
That and a bit of wiki knowledge. Steven will help you, just write to the mail address in the first post.
Nope, why would I, i'm mean, it's not like I have a flag under my name or anything
Joking aside, I meant to have the translation under that fancy "Other Languages" menu on the wiki.
Edited:
Okay, thanks!
Thank you! :)
The wiki has now completely been translated into german. Check it out!
Translated by myself(yes i feel good now) Grammar Erros might pop up but other german speakers can fix it since the translation is there
It's pretty awesome. playrustwiki.de will forward to the german page shortly.
Good idea
How could you mark this as trash? This would be very helpful to beginners. I think its a well put together wiki keep up the good work!
Yeah its looking great. Is it cool if I;ll use some information for Russian Community? http://wiki.playrust.ru/
google translate doesn't get the nuances between languages
it works for single words, but converting entire sections of prose doesn't work.
Try translating stuff from English to Finnish and then back to English with Google Translate.
Butter becomes mustard lube....
Yep. Also depending on the language it mixes in totally wrong words, as many words depend on the context.
lol i just realized something
this is a wiki
for a pre alpha game
that is actually an alpha
why do we even need this again????
what is with the jpeg compression on these
eww jpgs for linebased content
also
do you want someone who thinks its necessary to go to facepunch studios and try and put their logo in the view of the security camera (with their mom) as the person running the "official" rust wiki????
That story again ;)
While we don't want to feed the trolls, short answer:
Did you notice that it was a member of us? Indeed, some people knew it. However, I didn't know about it for example and was surprised when I saw it. (Personally, I find it funny though)
At the compression: Everyone can upload new versions of them. That's why it's a wiki :)
i'm sure so many people are rabid about your hosting that they're getting their parents to drive them to garry's office so they can hold up a sign about it
Obviously one of thousand did it. But this derails the topic. The topic is the wiki :)
Polish and French were recently added.
If you want to help us with translations, please write to us.
i can translate i'm french :D
I'm french and I can speak English
Very nice
Some of the images on your wiki are pixelated an unbelievable amount. I don't know why you chose to upscale them, but it's silly.
Once again: That is a community generated source. Unless they are totally horrible we will leave them in there. People can easily upload new versions which are fixed. Feel free to link us and I'll take a look and we might be able to correct that.
To all translators:
Most languages with active translators were added to the sidebar. Let us know if you have any questions. The community appreciates all translations.
Wiki is always up-to-date, great design, overall pretty good and describes everything very well. Pretty good!
The website will be down for about 10-15 minutes today for bit of maintenance.
Please let us know if you have questions.
I did some translating to Polish but I'm stuck on this:
I don't know how to make the pictures show up for separate weapons :/
Hey MontexMatt,
please write to our mail address in the first post so we can resolve this. Steven will take care of this ;)
Thanks for the translation to polish!
A lot of the pages should be reworked. Most of these 300+ pages have very little content, only having a few sentences max and no pictures.
Go ahead. It's a wiki. It depends on people providing the content. Also, the game is in an alpha-stage and we're slowly adding more content.
Yes, but it seems that you just rushed to get 300 pages to try to out the original wiki, which was working fine in the first place. On the other wiki, you see these kind of pages,
http://play-rust.wikia.com/wiki/Suppressor
and on your wiki I often see pages like this,
http://playrustwiki.com/wiki/Bandage
I'm just wondering, why did we need to switch wikis when the content quality decreased?
Who forced you to switch wikis? Just use the one whichever works best for you ;)
Once again, we're giving a platform and help with getting content on there. A wiki depends on other people helping. Other than that, I found our bandage page quiet informative and straight to the point?
You're a commercial business running a commercial website. As a content provider, it's your duty to make your wiki the best around. Not the users. If your website is lacking something, it's your job to add it, because you're the one who is trying to get users to use your website. Hosting a wiki is not your only job. You have to keep the wiki up to date and add as much information as possible (your goal shouldn't be "straight to the point", but to be informative and conclusive). The Play Rust wikia is a different deal, as it's a community effort to create a free and open wiki to help everyone. I'm motivated to help out the Rust wikia, because I'm not helping them make money, I'm helping people learn as much as possible. If you can't be assed to keep your wiki up to date with the best information around, I don't see why people should be assed to use your wiki instead.
Edited:
also your website loads really damn slowly
that's not very ideal
Hello Supersnail,
it never is our intention to make money out of such wikis. The DarkRP Wiki we host has been around for such a long time and it's the same concept there. There are many reasons why we rather run this as a company project and not a private project. Our motivations are the games. We will not force anyone to use the wiki. We've already said this at the War Z (Infestation) Wiki discussion. People will always have the choice and can use the wiki they like more.
(We ain't Curse.)
Edit: Yea, spain has problems again. Will take it out of the load balancer.
(Edit: Would a normal company answer you at 1 am? - Fuck business hours ;) )
seems to me like that's your plan
and you're right that you're not curse - curse keeps their wikis up to date, full of information, and they load really quickly
if your wiki was like that i wouldn't give a shit about any money making schemes
