Is it possible to make the game downloadable but its only single player so everyone can play but theres not too many players on the server?
its just a thought, this way there are not too many people and alot more testers. if there is a reason why this is a bad idea just let me know.

im not saying let everyone play multiplayer but whats wrong with people playing all alone? they could still report bugs in the game and they would not be a nuisance

I agree with this. Nothing wrong with this idea at all.

I really don't think that they want to create a offline version in the midst of all the patching and updating.

Wait for the open alpha or open beta.

you aren't going to get a offline download at this point, they have it in a web browser is because they can easily update it at anytime.

yeah, youre right its a bit early and they have more important things to do. I still think it would be a good idea further down the line when they have the major problems fixed

A demo for what? They aren't selling the game, it's in bloody ALPHA stage.

They don't want you to try it, they want the testers to test it. And you are not a tester. Deal with it.

Not going to happen. An offline would defeat the purpose of this game. Rust is all about human interactions.

Releasing this as an offline version would pretty much flood the forum of dumb people asking stupid questions and complaining about how incomplete the game is. They wouldn't be testing anything, but playing "for fun". The spread the game has around places like Youtube is way enough and has already caused problems to the actual testers. Better keep the game as it is and let it improve before opening to the public.

Alot of the testers arent testing, they are just playing the game because they were lucky enough to get a beta key.

I am not talking about a demo im talking about a way for more people to test the game, ''in bloody ALPHA stage'' and help get it out of ''bloody ALPHA stage''. This game is not about human interaction, it is about surviving. for most players its actually about avoiding human interaction at the moment. I dont want an offline version to play the game but to test it, and you dont need other people to do that. It doesn't matter if it defeats the purpose of the game, does it have to be multiplayer to chop down a tree or test the crafting?

I know it is too early for an offline version and there are more important issues at hand. the point of an offline version is that dumb players are not a hassle. they can always be banned from the forums. also there is not just stupid people out there, what do you mean by ''they''? there would be many people that actually test and those people could help.

I don't see why they would release an offline version of a game where player-to-player interaction is essentially a core game mechanic? I'm pretty certain encounters with "dumb players" are considered a feature.

Yes it is. the game would not be complete without multiplayer but this would be to test the building and mobs and all that other stuff, not to play the game with all of its core features. they would release it to test stuff.

Anyone here who thinks they're playing to have fun is wrong. You're here to make sure that there are no bugs. The fact that you all want to play to have fun invalidates all of you for any keys. Just wait for the open alpha and go nuts.
