On my first server ever where I have a huge base with friends we offline-raided someones big castle and as revenge he came with an invisibility and invulnerability hack floating thru the map I guess and killed one of our members and then logged off. Seems to be piss easy to get hacks. I wonder how he achieved all his stuff.

Hello there, would like to report a hacker on my server, self teleporting, invincible and able to kill people through metal walls ^^
We have been 4 admins trying to kill him while he was raping half of the houses and players of the map. So if you need testimonies, I can provide some :)

What is it with the people who have had a vac ban and it says: X days since last ban. And they are free now to continue their hacking? I had one of them on the last server spraying headshots with his pistol, killing a bunch of people in a few seconds.
I thought a vac ban is final. Can anyone explain how that works?

My friend and I just got killed by a hacker named FriendlySadPanda in the server West Coast PVP/ Air Drops. We were running down the road in the middle of the night when we heard some guy ask if we were friendly. A second later, he fires 4 rounds in 2 shot bursts. The first two kill me instantly, the next shot hits my friend who was hiding behind a tree literally half a second after I died.

again new cheat noclippers on servers..they walk through wall/ celling..saw it killed one in my house..he moved from 2 floor on 1 through celling. then i go sleep..coming back, no box left in house...all stuff gone. gg

Why doesn't that rude admin "Postal" just sticky this thread, rather than blaming/banning people who miss it? If it's on page 2-3, you can't often see it, and also it's actually quite hard to find via the search features (if you directly search 'hacker discussion', much like Postal always says when banning someone, nothing comes up).

Because everyone who posts here should have read the section rules first. The rules thread which is pinned at the top and includes the ominous phrase "READ OR GET BANNED" includes a link to this thread. Assuming you don't wish to be banned and have read the rules you already know the link to this thread. If you haven't read the rules however and get banned, clearly the fault is yours.
That's like if I were to show up to a basketball game in cleats with a baseball bat and got kicked out as a result. Whose fault would it be that I hadn't bothered to read and learn the rules? Mine.

Several days ago i caught someone who foolishly(thankfully) posted a screenshot to his profile while using "RustJackD" cheat.However,he deleted that screenshot when i warned the server admin about that.
Right now he is banned from our server and from several servers as well,yet VAC not caught him.

The OP is absolutely correct, this thread needs to be stickied, and Postal is utterly clueless by handing out bans for missing this thread when it's one of the most consistently active (but not always in the top-20)

As you may now, Rust suffers from hackers in official servers and finding good community server is not easy.
In UK-3 server there are some hackers that we (so many players) already reported via VAC many many times!

Agree. All of the GODS clan russians hack, they fly, speedhack, aimbot for about 2 months now and none of them have been banned.

Cheating on Rust Central US 3 (Stress Test). Shooting thru walls, insta kill, etc.
Has another VAC ban on record. Just when Rust gets exciting again, I'm reminded how miserable the gameplay is due to the prevalence of cheating.

I hear about all these hackers and think how glad I am we don't get any of them. How on earth does everyone have hackers on their server? We had hackers ONCE on our server, they were immediately banned and could never come back.
Haven't had/seen a hacker since.

If you watch the thread more closely you'll notice that 90% of the ban reports posted here are related to the official servers wich don't have the luxury of admins running around.

The more critical metric is that the official servers have huge populations compared to most private servers (and tons of clueless newbs), making them more "fun" to grief. It would be kind of pointless to hack a server with 15 players, the legit players would simply logoff and the hacker would be alone!
Hackers, particularly the overt "griefers", need to feel powerful and notorious, and that's why they mostly target the official servers.
Lack of admins is a small "benefit" for them, but there are probably hundreds of private servers that are not actively administered and they ignore those.

I hope for the games sake, that a patch this week will fix this!

I met this person in open world. He killed me of course. So i did the normal bitch about it in chat aim was bad blah blah blah. Next thing i know he pops up next to me in game and head shots me. Now i respawned no where close to where i had died. :)

got a guy in our server ( central 1 ) named 발암크리 but has alot of other names and has a ban on record already. so for him to be back in for a 2nd tour just makes me wonder if this is worth it.
however this is what he is doing, aim hack, shotting through wallz, warping into our house and now camping it.

Was surprised to find today that people can do basically everything still (in terms of hacks). Noticed people warping into my base/killing me instantly (aoe hack). I thought that crap was fixed - it's the first time I have encountered it since the last few updates/patches. Was not very amusing to have my entire base (which would have taken over 40 c4 to fully raid) completely emptied within 5 minutes by warping/vclippers. :c

Yesterday was a day full of hackers,
I play on a nice vanilla server wich has Dutch admins and 90% Dutch population.
I once saw a guy fly but that was the onley hacker I ever saw in 2 months,
Until yesterday.
I'm in a nice 10 men clan, we where going to check out a new base a member build in Hacker, then airdrop. Right above us, bingo! So took the drops and went on. Thought wel let's put this in one of our bases. We where in Hacker Valley and one of the guys got an metal fortress there. As we came close to it we got fired upon from the roof of our own teammates base, so we (5 of us) where all like wtf is this? Went in the base, it was raided whiteout C4. Everything was collected in one room ( think it's a thing hackers do before they fly it out!?) we went up and contacted the admins, we got one hacker down the other one got banned on the spot and dropped dead. So we got our stuff and problem solved!
That night we went out on a raid on the beach with 5 of us. The raid went well, blew up a large base we hade 16 C4 on us (4 from an airdrop when we where on our way to the beach, lucky bastards that we are!) So we where all packed with loot and went on our way back to Next Valley ( There are all our main bases) then we made a bad decision. We came a cross a base we haven't seen before, so we went for some investigation. As we easily went in through the roof we stumbled up on a player. ( it was 02:00 at night so we where not expecting that. So BAM! Killed him, he respawned pretty close by. So we started a little firefight. He got one of us so now we really diden't want to bail, because of the loot in the bag of our teammate. (This all happens on the top floor of the base wich was pretty large and open) So we putt up some barricades and where defending the loot! Suddenly I hear ( on TeamSpeak ) 'I'm down' sec. Later 'me to', damn wtf is going on then another one down, then I saw my mate next to me drop and at last gray screen... Diden't even hear a shot last I saw was a guy spawning in me and instand killing me... So the guy we killed called in back up from his hacker friend who teleports instand to his base and headshots 5 kevlars in 2sec. Never should have go in, but who knew that would happen.
One plus to the story, I dropped a sleeping bag. So I respawned in the room where we got killed. The hacker only took our base parts, explosives, Kevlar and charges. So I and a mate (also dropped a sleeping bag ) could load up all the gear that was left (lot of guns) and make a run for it. Both survived and got the loot to a save place.
So that's my latest experience with the hacker guild.
Thanks to our admins who where really active and banned them fast!

Is that a joke? The hacking situation has not improved what-so-ever, and there haven't been any significant updates regarding the outlook on the situation. It's a shame.

This game is unplayable at the moment. There are hacks (probably non-public ones) that exist, and they are brutal. Basically, you can get killed anywhere inside your base (alive/asleep), your loot can be taken from inside your base (saw some guy vclip through all my walls, then warp out. This was a vanilla/community server with no plugins.)
There is absolutely no way to be safe right now. I don't care if someone uses 10+ c4 to raid me, but when I lose everything to hackers, it does get old.
Current hacks/problems in Rust:
- Vclipping through walls/bases/doors
- Killing sleepers/people/crates through walls
- Auto-gathering resources/airdrops/crates without being next to them.
- Aimbot
- No recoil
- ESP
- Speed hack
- AOE suicide hack
- Insta-kill hack
- Learn all blueprints/research automatically
- Forcefield
- Can use spam-bot to crash server/players with chat on.
- Fly hacks/super jump
Like I know some of these can't be fixed, but most of them can.

Okay guys found new glitch.I play in uk 4 official server.Player staked loud off ramps, and made house inside.You cannot go inside, and you can’t shoot true empty space i make screenshots with shooting.Because it is 10 or more staked ramps you need a lot of c4 to destroy it.So it is glitch and i’m reporting it, fix it fast as you can.
