I managed to kill the first buddy, SgtShawey, he got disconnected while running like Sonic trough the field and I killed his sleeping body and took his stuff. Later on his no-named friend came flying to my house, claims that they will attack us with 20 C4 if I don't give him his stuff back ^^. I didn't :O
Have no proof yet but if they do raid us, video footage will be included in this post.
EDIT: They raided our house yesterday, video proof coming soon...They bloked all doors so we are basically locked inside.
Also they both changed their names already so it's obvious they are hiding their identity.

The hacker in my server is called Kenyan Kid. Flying over mountains and killing 5 guys in full kev with 5 bullets...so damn frustrating.

- Expecting everyone to be capable of fraps-recording their entire Rust games just to catch that hacker with proof, instead of just listing the name and a potential official server admin adding it to his 'look at' list and then checking if anyone from that list is online when he is watching the server, then investigating himself if the accused is a hacker.

I want to cause more pain to you than to these hackers, as you just prove to be the kind of idiot which would never come up with a solution to the issue and dismisses it, which is just worse than the people causing the issue. While walking in the mountains I heard some gunshots, but I was carrying some resources so hid very well, or so I thought. This guy then looks at me at that distance. He takes one shot, then I turnt on Shadowplay. Is this guy hacking according to you guys?

hahahaha I saw one of these kids a few posts up calling out a kid for being a hacker on my server. The kid threatened to DDoS the alleged hacker and now he's posting here. Brilliant.

Just tried to join a server with 100+. Unfortunatly it was ddosed.
If you take legal action, theres a chance for some jailtime for them. Go for it.

ok i know this game is in alpha but this game is just a poor joke at tha moment be cos the hackers just aren't being dealt with i mean common developers what tha fuck are you doing?
o ya there busy removing zombies and making rocks and wood deposits look better... ok first if WTF seriously that what you prioritize when your game is literally under siege by hackers and legit players are just getting all there hart work screwed by these assholes?
my first hint to the developers is get a dam clue what you should be prioritizing stop making some dam pretty flowers and roses and get a working anti hack.
i will personally be recommending anyone to stay away from this game as it is unplayable at this point in time i will be posting my opinion and videos on any forum worth anything and as far as im concerned this game is for me and my friends a dead game that we prob will not be playing until this is fixed (with the current impressions of this game and its developers at this time that will be never agen lol) but hay enough of my ranting time for some cheaters caught on video that most likely will never be banned becos hay the developers are preoccupied looking at trees and stones

regardless, learn some patience already. They've updated you guys a number of times on their progress with the hackers, it's being worked on. Waiting for patches is just part of the alpha experience, so you're gonna have to just deal with it.

Just the fact that this is how Facepunch responds to people who want to play the game and have faced hackers is disappointing… I know you guys are probably tired of all the hackers and their victims, but you could be a little more professional than telling them to "stop being so dramatic" and "too bad then" :/

Its is indeed to bad that this is what the moderators are doing but then agen this isint the only place this is done, when ever something is seriously wrong with a game and people try to write about it on the games forums there alwase is a moderator or two that just pop in and try and make the problems look like there nothing serious and make it look like the gamers complaining are just overreacting. And the thing is this is both just showing amazing lack of respect for there own community (basically not giving a shit like the dude two steps above seeing as he hasent even played the game but still has the audacity to basically say im overreacting when he knows nothing of the problems in the game or how severe they are) and making the problem worse than it is when they chose to do nothing about the hackers like on rust

You really don't know what you're talking about. There's been thousands of cheaters banned already and on top of that the devs are investigating a new anticheat solution, so give it a rest.

Spector can hit you bang on every time from 200m with an m4 while the target is sprinting and weaving (By weaving i mean sprinting in 1 direction and using the mouse to make you move left and right, like a snake), between a supply drop, He wasn't spraying and praying, it was individual shots. I've never seen a single streamer or video of a player legitimately able to do this.
IMO that is 100% hacks, he never missed. The admin of the server who is a very nice guy, raided my base and i was stood still in a corner and even he missed me a few times, with an MP5 which has less recoil....
Am i being crazy here? I've never seen anyone able to do this. Not 1 bullet missed.

THE ACCUSATION.

They seemed to be using a general multi-hack. What I could pin on them is aim-boting, speed hacking and wall hacking. Maybe more, but that is what was fairly obvious.
THE STORY

It started yesterday. They marauded through the open areas killing people with stone hatchets, winning every single fight quickly and easily. At this point they appeared to be speed hacking. When I was first attacked by them I was running in a straight line for at least a minute and somehow they caught me. They were hitting me with and axe while still running at sprint speed.
Later that night they raided our base with C4. C4 isn't craftable on the server. Either they were able to spawn it through cheating or they got it out of an airdrop. And for them fighting for an airdrop would be easy. Today we didn't see much of them, but many death messages from them on the server. Once at night, I was crouch walking near by a shed and out of nowhere r3zayn popped out of it and killed my instantly. Like he could see me through the wall and knew exactly where I was.
Finally they showed up again to the base. C4ed a wall and killed us quickly and and easily. This time they were fully kitted out with kevlar. The first time I died in that scuffle was a head shot from very far away. And one of my friends reported being shot through a wall. It was also reported that one of them was on top of a large rock which no legit player would have been able to climb up.
Soon after the server experienced severe lag and and eventually crashed. Don't know if it was related to them or not. but when it came back online, Harvest was asking for an admin claiming that his 2 friends r3zayn and xXD3vizZeXx had been banned. Cry more, cheater :P
All of this is very he said she said, I know. I don't have any photographic evidence. But I do have suspicious circumstances that point toward past cheating.

This one includes a dead link to some sort of hack files for CS:S that he apparently made several years ago. it says movie making hack.....even if its something benign, it at least shows he has some skill and knowledge in this arena and could be making hacks for rust.

Postal, there's a point made in that madness. The devs 'fixed' the suicide hack, that's all they've actually done about hacks. VAC is responsible for banning the (clearly insufficient) number of cheaters from the game, not dev efforts.
It is an alpha, things don't work etc. I get it. But testing/playing standard-settings late game in Rust is at the moment very VERY unpleasant and unlikely. The devs set a number of players on the official servers to adjust the lag/population density/balance with so many players etc. And that is unassessable to us, the players, as unofficial servers have either abusive admins, modified settings or small populations (a totally different meta game) while the official servers have no persistent late game due to cheaters wrecking anyone that amounts to anything. I love testing alpha games, just check how much feedback I gave so far, but it is impossible to play the game for someone who is in late game right now on official servers. I've tried running 'off the map', literally setting up a base on the edge of the map where the last resources spawn before the vast wastelands and hackers were still present. Building a base in such a lowly-populated and generally boring area took some persistence, and it still failed me.
I'll say it again: there is no late game (and hence no game for people like me) on official servers as long as there are this many hackers present.

Yeah because you were upset at the texture artists still working on the game while the hacking issue was actively being sorted lol. if you want people to take you more seriously, take the time to understand the situation, instead of jumping to the worst possible conclusions. Regardless though I still took the time to give you an explanation of the situation.
Except I don't have to play the game to inform you how silly it is to get angry at texture artists for doing their job, or know that there is a large amount of work being done on the hacker problem already, becuase all this information is readily available for everyone on the developer blog+trello.
Again, I don't have to play the game to know that the devs aren't coming in here and banning people from reports in this thread, (especially since it's filled mostly with useless report that aren't 100% conclusive) because they're using VAC. Everyone reported here (Well, minus the chat spammers) is going to get banned or has been already. The only issue is the time it takes to ban them, which they're actively addressing now by investigating a new anticheat solution.
The main point I'm trying to get through to you is you came here to claim the devs are too busy making rocks look pretty instead of doing something about hackers, but if you'd just read their blog already like I keep telling you to, you'd see that not only have thousands of cheaters been banned and various hacks been personally patched by them, but that new progress is being made towards an additional anticheat solution. That sure sounds like a reasonable amount of effort to me.

they're addressing all the hacks that can be addressed on their end, but there's only so much you can do with stuff like that since this shit involves editing game files. That's why they've adopted VAC and why they're now working towards a possible new anticheat solution to speed things along even further. You guys were told things would be rough, and like I said, waiting for new patches is just part of the alpha experience.

This is exactly why some of you guys should not be playing alpha. All you guys do is complain and blame the game devs or "texture artists" at what hackers do even though the game still has to go through beta which means it is hardly a finished product.
I read a great comment on reddit about the whole situation, and it was saying how let all the hackers do their thing right now, so while the devs actively work to prevent it, the game will be much smoother and more pleasant to play as the game reaches it's finished version. You guys are honestly saying the stupidest things with 0 knowledge to back it up. Sorry if I'm harsh btw, I played many games in alpha and beta that turned out incredibly (minecraft and league being 2 of the better known ones) and this game looks very promising, so people need to take a breath and just chill out

Play on a community server? Have you seen how many great admined servers there are with active hackers being banned instantly? To say you can't enjoy rust at all would lean more towards you having a problem more then the problems the game presents at the moment.
Another thing, if you didn't want to play an incomplete game; and this isn't like warZ where they said it was complete but it really wasn't; it was STATED it's in alpha and there will be many problems such as cheaters, and still thought you were gonna be playing this perfect game, then blame yourself.

The distinction between an alpha game and a lot of useless lines of code is that the alpha is a playable, working (for some/most consumers) product.
Reasons why I avoid community severs: abusive admins, thick admins (example: a guy telling the admin 'hey can you teleport me to my friend? I'm new and can't find him' while the guy is fully geared and stuck in a base he fail-raided and fell into a trap. True story.) and deviations from the developer's metagame/vision of how the game should look like, meaning things like low population, mods, changed settings. I'm sure there is a community server out there that would suit me (ie. be just like official ones minus the cheaters), but finding it involves a lot of time wasted on trials-and-errors and is most likely not going to be worth it.
Remember my 'official servers need admins' arguments from days before? We-hey, it all comes together now! Suddenly there's this very quick-to-implement solution available that works perfectly for community servers as far as getting rid of cheaters goes!

Cool. Are you in the lategame? Are you playing a server with no abusive/thick admin? Is your server using the original settings? Is there more than a 100 people on it most of the time? In other words, are you playing the game as the developers are creating it or as the community likes to adapt it?
Imagine playing an MMORPG where at one point, after a lot of learning and playing/grinding your character gets stuck at his current level and can only lose XP due to deaths, and cannot accept any quests. That game is very playable for anyone below that threshold, but for anyone that hits that point it is just pointless to play. This is very analogous to what's happening with hackers on official servers.
