I would do some more of the wiki pages, but right now Rust won't let me log in (the Log In button just doesn't work anymore). I'll try again tomorrow and try to get some more done.
The wiki was mentioned :)

By the way, if anyone can get pictures of the various towns and industrial complexes in the game we can create another wiki section about locations.
you kids interested in some icons
i got em
Edited:
albeit in terrible quality but hey placeholders

No clue who did the change to my guide.
But whatever, I just rolled it back.
Edited:
This makes me think we need security on the wikia because butthurt people can just edit our shit.
We need some responsible people to take up positions as admins.
(No, I'm not one of them. Find some people who aren't idiots and appoint them as admins.)

How do I use this template:

Trying to edit Wood
For wood it would be something like this:

Of course with the image, you'd just link directly to the name of the image on the Wikia, so if you upload it as wood.png, just put "wood.png" into the image line, because infoboxes handle images differently than the main body, with the body you have to do
Plus any additional options prefixed by a |, so something likeCode:
But yeah, as long as you've put the image name to something unique when you uploaded it to the wikia, you should just be able to put the exact name you gave it in the image property.Code:
Weird, I pasted in the infobox and it just turns up in the preview as text. Is there somewhere specific I put it?
Edited:
I can't connect to the game :( it's impossible to get information
When you go to edit it, you should see two tabs, make sure you paste it in 'Source', it will show up as a a jigsaw in Visual, but that's how it's meant to be, if you hover over that jigsaw, it'll give you a proper preview, or you could just click the 'Preview' button on the right.
Edit:
Or the above way, since it's more user-friendly to people who don't know the syntax in detail.
Yeah, I just realised hahathanks

Used the source panel

I'd like permission to edit the home page and insert some icons for the categories, if that's alright with whoever it concerns
Edited:
or I could upload them and let somebody else insert them
Yo we need someone to upload kevlar images, I Would do it my self but 300+ players lagfest is keeping me from playing rust.
It's hard to write articles about anything any more valuable than wood because it's impossible to play the game. Too many people concentrated in too small of a space.
That's the issue I'm getting. I guess we'll have to let it settle down a bit.
It's even harder to write articles when the login button doesn't work. So don't even moan about it being laggy.
I'll edit the homepage maybe today or tomorrow - video editing is srs business
As for the wiki itself - we could maybe use a background and a new color scheme for it. Possibly to match the colors of the world, or maybe a wooden brown theme to reflect player homes?
Welp, I got in, but every time I spawn, I die because there's someone with rifles and a base next to where I spawn.

Added what images I could (Cloth, Charcoal, Shotgun Shells) and updated the pages accordingly, I thought I had a 9mm image but apparently I don't.
...
Vastly updated all the weapon's pages, added images and trivia. Enjoy!
Those are some good images, was nice of you to get them and put 'em up.
Edited:
Also, I created Water Bottle, Granola Bar, Tuna Can and Bandage pages, as well as updating Metal Ore, Sulfur Ore, Leather Pants and Gunpowder with images. But for the stuff I created, I still need statistics like how much hunger they restore, since everytime i've eaten i've never paid any attention to the hunger bar, but of course with the bandages, i'd need how much health they restore (if any)
Edited:
I can probably archive most of the media on the wiki, since i'd like to anyway. But so far all i've got are the images i've created from my own screenshots.
Wow guys, this is seriously looking a lot better. I'm going to work on the CSS tomorrow, I'll make it brownish and add a background image.
Edited:
Added a few redirects for commonly placed pages.
Added a few images of ammo and linked the weapons to them.
added trivia to all the ammo pages plus fixed inaccuracies on the 5.56 page
Kamern, you should restrict editing access to the guides so people don't just go around fucking them up.
Agreed. Butthurt people have been editing my page a lot, and even removed a good bit of it.
Removing their editing as we speak.
While it's simple to just rollback changes using the history, we shouldn't have to worry about idiots vandalising the pages that are meant to teach them shit about the game.
Oh wow some guy just edit my guide so there is nothing there
The user is some guy that doesn't even have an account.

Amazing enough he's been editing my guide a lot.

Best thing you can do is report them here and I'll block them. There are ways around this but if they're that desperate to edit a page that we can roll back, there's nothing we can really do, let them have their fun, the fix is literally just a click away.
Edited:
I did block that IP.
Could someone add the image of leather to the leather article? I suck at getting good pictures.
Well you just screenie your screen while have the picture of the item visible.
Even if it's just a recipe picture.
I would if I didn't instantly spawn and die, or travel away and then find every single animal went extinct when I get hungry.
There's no recipe picture, it's not craftable using a recipe.
I'll go ahead and add a picture straight away.
Oh god you are the man of the year.
Fucking high quality work.
I'll start adding more items as I stumble upon them today. I've already added the leather, is there a way to add "added by"?
It's automatic if you have an account, but I think you need an account to upload photo's anyway.
Not for me, I'm logged in as "Voddlers"
How are you adding the image? Is it inside an infobox? or are you using the File tags?
This thread really needs a sticky.
