Isn't this similar to how the Portal 2 ARG was done? Images converted into sound?

Kind of cool how this all works, and it makes me wonder if, in another time and place, the Internet could have been entirely sound-based over the telephone...

What kind of effects are you using for Audacity?
I usually just cut and past different parts, add a bit of phaser and shit, but I don't make it too much because then it would be irrecognizable.

And if you're using the notepad, are you overall getting better results? I feel that its a bit more unpredictable, thats why I'm not bothering to explore that right now

I just tried doing it in reverse - using a sound, edit it in photoshop and open it in Audacity again. It sounded like shit.

save the file as a .png and open it with notepad, change a few characters in the text around, and save it - you will see HUGE differences by changing even one character.

Funny what the addition of a single period can do. I should try playing with the encoding, could either screw it up entirely or make some interesting results.

I'm using ImageMagick for this, it can output to raw RGB/RGBA formats, then convert that back to whatever.

what mine? Its pure glitch. Glitched it once, then I turned it 90º and tilted it a bit and did the same thing. A lot of trial and error.

there's no setting for interlacing in photoshop, and the exported .raw file either does not open, or does not have any contents in Audacity.
