The top one isn't terrible - it's decent. It could do with some slightly better faceposing, but as it stands someone may find it somewhat pretty.

The second one suffers from admittedly quite funny faceposing, an overused and quite terrible-looking muzzle-flash, fairly little going on, and a strange orange glow.

Improve on these things and I bet you can make something really worthwhile.

Top one is actually really good, I was surprised, but that muzzle flash in second is absolute crap. Try looking up tutorials, Chesy/V-man both have good ones. Not to mention youtube can help ALOT too.
