This is the part of a short series of comics I am making as a background story for a character in a local Vampire: The Masquerade game. More to come soon.

    Enjoy.

I'd make it a bit bigger, it wasn't the easiest to read. Your posing is decent, but the first frame that you can see him standing with the sword is pretty bad, and of course I'm not sure if I'm buying the plot yet. "It was not always this way." is going to be a swing and a miss for me, you've failed to establish what has changed in the monologue, and instead leave yourself with a rather pointless catch phrase. You have a brief mention of "others before" or something of the sort but it's not enough to complete the idea. Good effort though, not a bad comic.

I can already tell this is going to be some pretentious "Rule of Cool" shit.

Also, guessing from the title of this thread, it would seem you intend to make a different thread for each page. That is a silly idea.

The comic section had a rule that anything over 700px wide was required to be linked. Is this not the case anymore? I'd be glad to make it bigger next page.

Hey, if you're too lazy to make a decent comic, don't whine about it. Jesus, when did people get so mean? I made a goddamn comic. It took me a few hours to make. People used to be supportive of each other, when did that fucking change? Mods used to ban people for replies like this one. If you don't like it, don't reply.

The comics section doesn't exist anymore because it was merged into this section.

Damn Sarge, that's old school requirements there

This section has changed a lot. People are less supportive of comics like they used to (hence the merging into the screenshots section) and more interested in photoshopping a picture before they can even pose properly. The lot of wannabe photoshop "artists" running around seemed to have skewed most people's expectations.

I take pride in being one of said ~artists~ who only uses Halo models and lamps, but mostly lamps.

So because I didn't like your comic, I have to do something 100 million times better?

    Good logic, bro.

Oh, and the "Don't like it, don't reply" argument is bullshit. You put this up here, of your own volition, and now, just as I won't dispute your right to post this comic, you can't dispute my right to criticize it, nor can you say you expected nobody to have the slightest problem with it.

Your exact words were "pretentious "Rule of Cool" shit". Because I take pride in making a comic that is interesting, and has more than just dialogue, it's pretentious? Good logic, bro.

I don't dispute your right to criticize. But criticism needs to be constructive to be criticism. "This is shit" is not criticism, it is spam. So I am asking you, politely, to not post replies to my comics unless you are going to be constructive. As an example, look at the post above yours, by Biscuit-Boy. See how that post points out specific flaws in the comic such as size and writing style? This is how you should respond to people. It's a common courtesy. Just because this is the internet does not mean people can't have an intelligent conversation with each other.

I didn't say that we can't have an intelligent conversation, I just don't think it's worth it.

This comic is going to be predictable. The protagonist has an inner-monologue, uses a sword yet can still take on people with guns, and apparently has some super-human abilities.

I have heard this so many god-damned times, it's unbelievable. This comic already loses points for not being unique enough, and the story hasn't even got going yet.

As well as that, I could barely tell what was going on. The bubbles were jumbled about seemingly randomly, and by the time I was able to piece together what was going on, the guy with the gun was dead and apparently, this has no impact on the story at large, and is just there to prove that the protagonist is capable of killing people.

The poses were also totally shit. I could see "unoriginal sword-guy" (as I have taken to calling him) floating off the ground in the 5th panel, along with the random Asian dude pulling a gun in a ridiculously exaggerated motion, as well as his face-posing being... random.

There, that constructive enough for you?

Even if you choose to ignore my points, you still shouldn't post one thread per comic.

    Edit:

    Also, your exact words were:

Hey, if you're too lazy to make a decent comic, don't whine about it.
I fail to see how this comic being pretentious has anything to do with the fact that, by your logic, I must be a comic-poser on a par with, or better than, you in order to judge you.

    See? Now that's constructive!

It is interesting you should mention the "ridiculous" poses, since I base my poses on photo models. I'm not sure how to fix it. Perhaps reality looks unrealistic?

As far as face posing, I figured the Asian guy is shouting something like "Oh, you wanna mess with me, motherfucker? HOW ABOUT I BLAST YOUR ASS FULL OF HOLES". I personally thought the face fit, but i suppose your mileage may vary.

Finally, I hope that you will at least hang on to this comic long enough to realize that this is not just a "random sword guy". I, too, become tired of that cliche, but in this case it fits the background of this character. This is a Vampire: The Masquerade character, after all.

    Thanks!

    Glad this didn't devolve into a flame-war.

Probably won't keep reading, though. Just not my kinda thing.
