Wanted try something a bit more realistic with the explosion and effects overall.

Scenebuild on gm_scenebuild. I'll add one more map to the collection, then I'll release.

    Comparison to the original:

Used pinkscreen to isolate the grass.

And who the heck ever ported the EU soldiers from whatever game, be informed that they have lots and lots of missing materials, rimlighting in wrong spots and very, VERY stiff arms.

great, dynamic posing. i think i went over everything else on steam

only thing i'd say is work with contrast, levels, gradients and colour-balance and saturation and all that jazz more because it seems that after a bit of loose shading and the effects editing you pretty much just leave the lighting as it is

I always fail with the level and gradient stuff. I just can't use them properly.

The explosion looks well placed and realistic, my only complaint is that it looks too real to be there. Wait the smoke should be more detailed. I love how the mech's pose is all like "FUCK YOU" i love it when you do that.

    Edited:

Does the mech have a penis or what?

Some of the fragments of earth, dirt and debris behind the mech look a little flat. As if they're "pasted on". Other than that, the image is superb.

Yeh I just threw a splatter brushes in there and erased some parts of them.

Other than that, the image is superb.

The exposion coming from nowhere is kinda wierd
But personally, I like the brightness/contrast and the colours, they make the picture look like a bit cartoon-ish, like a shot from the comic or something, which is cool

I mean, the explosion usually starts in this area

And you've placed it somewhere above the base of the explosion.

    Edited:

Also, I don't think that all your pictures are cartoonish. The last example is that small story with a trembling water. It's not cartoonish at all.

Looks more like a fireball caused by an explosion to me than an explosion midair.

    Pretty nice though.

yeh well the jurassic park/l4d crossover was an exception.

Models and tone look very close to some of awesome comic arts, which is good. I love it :)
