good snowflakes concept and good posing.
color usage is pretty spot-on but I hate the use of contrast and blur. To me, if a picture is dark and indoors then blur is appropriate, but it's outside with a ton of bright surfaces -- light should be reflecting everywhere and as such the picture should be crisp and contrasty.
you've got the contrast down right. it's the sharpness that really irks me a lot. a lot. maybe it's just the textures. there's something that screams "BLURRY, JUMBLED MESS"

This is amazing photo I love it, except in real life russian soldiers don't wear half that equipment, they are lightly equipped, camo, ak74 maybe a vest with some pouches and a helmet. that's all.

okay, fine, i'll say it. the models are really bad and totally not appropriate for russian soldiers. yeah, i know there's really no alternative so i won't blame you for it, but the sooner we get actual proper models the better. i could see these ones being used for maybe some kind of merc force but not a legitimate army. at least the proportions seem moderately less fucked up than the mw/mw2 ports.
posers: start annoying your porting/hacking friends into getting us the cinematic russian and american soldiers from world in conflict. not only are they in proper proportion, but they are wearing entirely accurate gear and they look fucking amazing. if we had less people obsessively porting models from whatever most recent TIER 1 MODERN WARFARE MIDGET COMBAT games and more porting from well-made games with excellent art assets (i.e. world in conflict), i would be a very happy man and the quality of screenshots would increase a few billion percent.
sadly bis is omniscient and has a huge beef with their models being ported (well, released; if you figure out how to port arma models yourself and then don't give them to anyone else they seem okay with that), so that cuts out accurate russian troops, but the wic models are still closer than shit like this and they look a lot nicer too. plus we then have the added bonus of 80s era yanks as well. cold war poses whatupppp

No, actually that comment is completely relevant, because the person who made the picture chose what models to use, he's the one who decided to use those models, so the fact that the model he used are bad is indeed his fault, since he could have chosen some other models.
And how the hell is "russians don't wear that gear" opinion? If anything, that's the thing that's 100% a fact in the post.

By all means if you're volunteering to port/create accurate assets, then that changes things. If not, then you entire first thrust as well as rossum's is fuck irrelevant.
Yes, it's a fact that DIRECTLY relates to the composition. So when hazarded as an opined suggestion, is actually germane.

He still could've used other models. Hell, if he really wanted to use these specific models, he didn't have to actually name them as "russian soldiers" in the title, if they are in fact not russian soldiers at all. It's like posing a guy in a suit and then naming him as a "US Marine" in the thread title. It makes no sense.

Why would they? Crazy Knife specifically always goes for the batshit insane scenarios and always name them as batshit insane scenarios. He doesn't pose imperial guards using machine guns and then name them as if they're supposed to be serious and realistic pictures.
