You think GIMP is inferior?
Yes, I do
Edited:
What does that suppose to me my good sir
I am pretty sure Vman uses GIMP, and he is pretty good with it... if I remember correctly.
I hope you legally obtain a purchasable copy of Photoshop CS5, or we're going to have some problems.
hahaha oh god.
don't even bother editing until you can pose.
I love your editing OP, can you give me a tutorial?
Yes i am going to purchase photo shop. I need to do this, because I got a new computer. I am sorry if I offended anybody with my comment of gimp being underpowered, Maybe my Skills are just underpowered with gimp
First of all, the antlion is FUCKING BACKWARDS.
Its called a mule kick.
It's supposed to be kicking him like a horse would, obviously.
But then again, it still doesn't make ANY FUCKING SENSE.
second of all, its not an antlion, it's an ant guard
Oh, derp.
Still makes no sense
Yey! You got what I was going for.
GIMP can be as good as Photoshop, if you know how to use it.
About the picture, the posing its ok, my only complain would be that the AA is quite low, try to up max your graphics.
Edit;
One question, was the muzzleflash of the rifle cartoony on purpose? I seriously hope so.
Plus there's shitty bloom, he's on construct, the muzzleflash is a 30 second PoS, and there's no faceposing.
And what's your beef with GIMP?
SDoF + No Anti-Aliasing = Looks like a poor cut n paste.
Turn AA on, trust me, it will look better.
Obviously Aaron is testament to the amazing powers of GIMP.
Seriously, no contest. sorry Aaron, but compared to Vman- you have no chance
No, i just can't use gimp to it's full power
yeh but thats terrible
who are you again? vman? what kinda name is that
Gimp is a very good tool, but photoshop makes things easier.
I have been using photo shop a lot more longer and the layout is different and i am use to photo shop, I'm taking graphic arts and my teacher says i have done some work that almost looks like what pros do
no they don't stop lying mark miller
If you are "pro" in Photoshop it should be incredibly easy to work in GIMP as they are not really that different. That muzzleflash and the silly comment about GIMP is proof that you clearly dont know how to use a Editing program properly.
No true "pro" ever use that silly word.
Gimp and Photoshop are equal in ability. I just find photoshop more user friendly than Gimp.
Then again, I did learn with photoshop so that might have created a bit of a barrier.
Only because that is the edition of Photoshop you use... :rimshot:
dear god you guys expect a lot from someone who hasnt posed in so long
Hardly so; they were merely correcting his mistake of thinking GIMP is too low-tech to compare with Photoshop.
If your GIMP skills are comparable to a gibbon with computer access, how do you expect the result to be any better with Photoshop?
Depends what you're using the two programs for. If you're editing Gmod pictures with a mouse then the two programs are pretty much identical for those purposes (actually, I prefer how GIMP works with contrast editing and some of the filter options it has are awesome).
But now that I paint with a tablet, GIMP is a piece of shit compared to CS5.
Photoshop isn't going to miraculously change the way you edit things, the knowledge and practice of it might. However I agree GIMP can pretty much do the same things as Photoshop, and comes with a definitive less price tag, in some ways it can't compare.
Practice more, improve your graphics and posing mostly. Then try to compose your shots a little more.. Directly with the action.
Are you six?
I should know...
I personally find PS easier to use but that's just more of a getting used to the program thing. Though I did hear from quite a lot people that while Gimp is an incredibly powerful program in it's own right, it doesn't fully compare to Photoshop. I admit I am not fully aware in which areas it lacks - I've just heard it does. might be tablet support.
Though if I remember correctly the gimp rendition of paths was actually superior to the PS one.
And I hardly doubt that the OP does any normal graphical arts since otherwise he'd see the mistakes almost instantly.
I haven't used photo shops since digital replaced film in most cameras.
Taking a picture with a camera and plugging it to the computer instead of taking the film to a shop saves time and I assume photo shop prices are pretty high novadays.
