This is mainly to foster the development of this sub-forum. Seeing as place was shot to hell, I decided to make a thread like this back in June. People stopped posting there and it died.
We post sub-par contraptions that we don't want to get flamed for with hopes of improvement so that we would get more members here. This is for if you're just starting out and want to ask questions or can't build as well as the the others. With some help plus CC, we could create better builders.
    Rules:
Do not flame these. This is the official G-Mod forum. You know that. That said, this is the first place people would go to post. We have this super high tower of a standard for here; we need to bring that down so we can get more people here.
At least try. I don't want to see shit that you put together in 5 minutes. What I mean is, don't throw 2 props together and claim it awesome.
Yeah... One hell of an OP. I suck at content....

So is this to post small contraptions that don't deserve a thread of their own?

Tried to elaborate on the OP.
I can't type or think right now; I don't know what's gotten into me.
Anyway, this is for small or bad contraptions or even questions that the people actually want to use to improve. That's the best way I can explain it right now. If you re-read the OP, you might understand it more.

So in other words a thread where we encourage the building of bad shit? I'm trying to understand what the hell this thread is for but the thing that just keeps popping up is that SBEP thread that just inspired a bunch of more people to go build more crappy sbep ships. I mean if you created a thread like this a while ago and it died, it probably did so for a reason.

It's so people can be encouraged to post shitty contraptions in an area where they can receive criticism from people who know it's bad to begin with.

This does have the capability to be a self-feeding echo chamber of shitty contraptions, but people who would be willing to listen to criticism could improve.

This is the most advanced and revolutionary catapult ever built. It features a plate composite platform, a pivot point, and a weight release button. To launch the catapult, just walk within the circle, and press the button. The button is set up with a state of the art countdown clock through e2, and a weld-latch to the large weight overhanging the other side of the platform.

I have prepared a detailed video demonstration since this catapult technology is amazingly innovative, revolutionary, ground-breaking, and just pure brilliant:

That's what the whole contraption board is for, so this thread still has no point IMO.

Yes, but can it smash the unsuspecting while moving?

I always found it ironic that a minge's favorite thing to build is a minge trap. This is the first one I've seen done right.

Very pointy nose so try to use a 0.25 x 2 phx plate for the front and right infront of the front tires then make the 45 degree slope
    +
turn the rear wheels around so the outside of them points out
    +
and as pringles say, use props instead of ropes for the cab and put in some windshields
    =
    good contraption

and you didn't need to materialize the steering wheel. it's got a good steering wheelish material by its own

Dammit, when I was playing RoR, it was considered a great achievement just to get a working vehicle, let alone skin it. Now the repository is full of all sorts of easy to do shitmods that everybody craps out every ten seconds with a couple good trucks spaced widely apart. Harumph.

It allows for more flexibility with respect to weight ranges. I can make my props far heavier without requiring prestretched elastic or multiple strands.

    Also arbitrary mounting points.

From the vid it worked a hell of a lot better than my crappy attempts. Still, over 1000 ops seems high for common use.

I can put the end of the elastics anywhere I want. Don't need spars to attach elastics to, I can just mount it to arbitrary offset points with respect to the body.

1600 ops isn't that bad, my walking expressions run about that high. It really depends on what you're using it for.
