I have met people in the military before, and most of them have came off as assholes, not all of them but a good portion. So I took that as if they are you are. I don't know anything about the military, how they hold their guns or what weapons they use. But from my experience on how they act I have the right to make the comment I did. I understand what you are doing for your country, I think that takes a lot of courage (more then I have). I applaud you for that.

afghanistan has oil, but it's not even close to the country's best asset and it's totally insecure (like, worse than iraq). oh, and the us doesn't actually get its oil from iraq or afghanistan at all, sorry to put an end to that stupid little misconception.
frankly, afghanistan's only credible assets are that massive mineral deposit they just found (which nobody knew about before the war, unless you're about to tell me the taliban were cool with foreign surveyors scoping out their real estate), opium (which is useless to western nations), and rusting soviet tanks. it used to be in an important trade position but that went out with the advent of ships and air travel. by all means though, keep arguing about something you don't understand. next you'll be telling me your uncle's best friend's wife is some high-up mineral company executive and they've known about the lithium all along.
try reading up on some actual history. the soviets invaded, america fought them by proxy as usual, soviets got their arses kicked and withdrew, america stopped caring and did nothing as the shattered country fell into the hands of the taliban. if aid had been provided right away, it wouldn't have happened, the taliban would not have gained a foothold, and bin laden would not have a leg to stand on.
you can keep making a tit of yourself if you really want to though, no loss to me.

And yes, most of americas oil comes form the Gulf of Mexico and Alaska, but it has also been known to be shipped in from Iraq, why did you think the bath loylists in the Iraq invasion lit up the oilfields?
Besides the one thing that let everything down was the aid, your right on that. America just pulled the fuck out when they were finished, even when they trained some of the afgani's (The Mujahideen).

Because if nobody argued in this world, the world woulden't understand its own problems and wouldn't get anywhere and i do understand the conflict. I was 10 when watching the images of tanks and 4x4's in Iraq and i still remember it. But you do have to repsect other peoples opinions, all people that i have met that have fired/worked with the M16/M4/AR's and have said it is more combat effective to hold it by the mag-well.
Anyway, it was a nice argue, havn't had a good one for a while, but we need to stop with the derailin', or the Mod Hammer will be down on us soon...

i remember the time before this one iraq got lit up. bosnia, kosovo. remember watching belgrade get blown the fuck up nightly. saw 9/11, saw the first troops hit ghan, then the roll into baghdad. anyone can watch television, that doesn't mean you understand a conflict. not even close.

The only cases where I've seen soldiers hold an AR pattern rifle like that is in CQB with carbines. Otherwise, it's a rare sight.
Anyway though: The posing is pretty wonky and unbalanced/uncomfortable looking on everyone save for maybe coach, but even then he's holding that rifle pretty awkwardly. I don't think i've ever seen anyone hold a rifle against their clavicle.
The effects are, simply put, shit. I shouldn't need to say anymore than predrawn brushes.
