We'll only be in the city centre anyway, so avoiding the shite areas shouldnt be a problem

could be late... but I'm pretty sure as of 1st Jan this year foreigners can't get into the cafes to smoke.
Consume heavy amounts of cannabis.
I have no idea. I thought it got pushed as I read a few posts. I have no idea when I live in the damn country.
You couldn't do that for a long ass time already.
I don't think the tourist law is in Amsterdam yet, it was just in some small towns. I only spent 2 days in Amsterdam on my visit to netherlands. There was nice coffee shop called 420 cafe in the central you should check it out, http://www.coffeeshopsamsterdam.com/...-420-cafe.html. And there was this bar really close by called Teasers which had some nice girls dancing on the bar counter. It was a bit expensive but it was fun place to go for few drinks. Wish I spent more time in Amsteradm, Rotterdam is pretty nice too.
I'm not sure but I think that law didn't pass.
And even if it did nobody would give a shit anyway.
There are these sprinkle things, and you put them on toast. They have lots of flavours and are FUCKING DELICOUS.
'Hagelslag'? We put it on everything, not just toast.
Late reply but foreigners cannot smoke marijuana in the Netherlands anymore.
coffeeshops dont give a damn just bring ur ID
Edited:
they want ur money $$$$
They passed a law that gives only dutch citizens the right to smoke marijuana in the coffee shops, and each one can only have 1500 registered smokers. Which is bullshit.
It's not enforced yet in Amsterdam if I'm not mistaken.
It's not yet enforced anywhere.
Even if it was nobody would give a shit anyway.
Weed-n-Whores tourism here is like the only international tourism we have.
I can't believe anyone hasn't suggested this but take a device that has GPS capabilities with you. It is seriously easy to get lost there due to the way the city is designed.
Although if you're staying near the core of the city then you probably won't need one but it doesn't hurt to have one either way.
I assumed someone that goes to a foreign country would take some form of a roadmap with em, but if you think it needs mentioning.
What?
Just look up at the clock tower and you know where you are, sort of.
Amersfoort is a good example of a city where you can easily find your way without maps
You would be surprised at how many people don't. It's more ideal though if you're venturing out of the general tourist area though.
It's not a shithole but it's also not very special. There are only a few places that are really nice.
Avoid enviromentalists at ALLL COSTS! There, they are more annoying than freaking cockroaches!
Oh well, lets hope they realize it's a bad idea and don't enforce it.
Cheers for advice everyone. I'll be sure to pick up a map now (leaving my phone off all week just because data roaming costs a fortune).
Packing just now!
Turn off roaming and leech off of wifi hotspots/unsecured networks.
Yeah I'll be using as much wifi as posssible haha
Fat chance with this government, they're like trained monkeys shouting racist slurs from a car while passing a stranded train.
Updated my Facebook photo today.

Hahaha don't worry it's too small anyway, not taking it.
Edited:
Where?
hahahaha that looks fantastic
Play dopewars on a laptop while smoking weed everyday.
Plasma Pong.
All cofeeshops in Amsterdam are a bit overpriced, but if you want a nice one to hang out with your friends try Prix d'Ami coffeeshop.
Its like really closeby the station and you can play pool and get smoothies while smokeing there.
Well I'm home.
Oh sweet jesus.
how was it
Yeah tell me how it was, going in July, any advice on were to go?
IIRC, Netherlands wanted to do so but the Mayors of the largely touristy towns said they disagree and they found that if the Netherlands wants to put in the new law, it can't be done for atleast a few years (I believe it was 5 years?), so it looks like the Netherlands is still weed-central until 2016, atleast in the touristy areas like Amsterdam.
also, did you get food out of the wall?
It's delicious.
