I think I'll stay with FL for he moment, I agree with you that it is pretty simple and its easy to learn how to do things as well. It looked really complicated when I first got it, having never used it and only really used trackers beforehand, but once you get the basics down it gets a lot easier to use. I might try out more complicated software when I actually start getting the hang of making music.

Well, he does have talent, he just wastes it. Is it just me that feels kinda, I don't, ripped off by a lot of modern music, like I notice a lot of songs and I think "This just sounds simple" like a mate of mine was listening to this RnB song and I swear to god it used the default FL clap. On the subject of FL and the like, what programs would you suggest I get for the kinds of music I want to make?

That's pretty much what I do, I don't One Direction, I just don't like them, and I don't see any reason that I should hate people for it.

Oh sorry man, I don't know about that, they can be dangerous things, that's why I stay on (comparatively) safe stuff.

I kinda see what you mean about youtube videos they simply tel you some steps on how to do something, instead of explaining how the process works or showing what effects what.

I might actually try and listen to more different kinds of music, I listen to a lot of stuff, although mostly electronic, stuff like daft punk and justice, but then I listen to stuff like Pendulum and (please don't hate me for this) skrillex (I do have a reasonable explanation) but when I was younger and rarely now I listened to stuff like greenday, billy talent but stuff like arctic monkeys to. I am getting back into stuff like that. Oh yeah I think I remember one of XXYYXX's songs, it had a music video with a bunch of people with wolf masks on, but normal clothes right? I wasn't a massive fan of it but listening to different kinds of music would help to.

One last thing but dood, you have got to listen to your music high, it's fucking awesome

This bit wouldn't fit in the last message

I guess I just have to be determined, not give up and keep on practicing. I may be trying to take on to much at once (3 instruments is pushing it) and I'm in the process of learning how to make house/EDM style music in FL, maybe I should just tone it down a little, what do you think? Oh, and one final question, where there any sites/videos you watched that helped you when you started making music? As someone who barely uses FL for anything more than editing midis and messing around with synths I would be fucking grateful if you told me.

Even if there are better producers out there, look at how good you are now. You're what, 14? 15? and you're already producing music to a high standard, you may not be the best, but damn you're trying hard to be.

You see I have an interest in music so I practice, but nothing like as much as you, iirc you spend like 6-8 hours a day producing, that's mental. You see I lack determination, when I pick up my bass and I can't do something after an hour or so I stop, if I'm having trouble changing chords on guitar I give up, if I can't play the drums at the right speed, or I keep on messing up my timing I quit, if I can't quite get that melody right I turn of FL.

Last time I talked to you you said that you didn't have any knowledge of musical theory so thats what I was basing that bit on

I have a genuine question for you, how did you become so good at making music? You've said it yourself that you have no knowledge of musical theory, yet you continue to make brilliant tracks. How?
